Nothing Beats Homemade Doughnuts!
Fresh Home ingredients makes a fresher Doughnut
Try it for yourself! Its Easy!
Ingredients:
1 1/2 tsp dry yeast
1 1/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup + 2 tbsp warm water
3 eggs
3 cups all purpose flour
2 tbsp butter-melted
1/2 cup evaporated milk
1/2 tsp salt
4 cups cooking oil for frying in
Wax Paper
Directions:
In bowl: combine yeast,1 tsp sugar and 1/4 cup warm water-dissolve-set aside
In separate bowl: whip up the eggs
In Large bowl Put in the flour and and make a well in the middle
In the middle of the flour add,yeast mixture,eggs,1/2 cup sugar,melted butter,1 cup water
Mix thoroughly to form the dough -cover with kitchen hand towel - let rise till double its size
Place wax paper down for donuts prep surface
Oil your hands: scoop rounded tbsp size chunks and roll into a ball - flatten ball a bit
Poke finger through center to form the hole
Heat oil to 380*F- Carefully drop them in the oil,brown both sides evenly
Drain on paper towels
Dip them in a bowl of the remaining sugar while their still hot
Let cool 3 to 5 minutes
Makes about 35 donuts
